In an interview with SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, Thayil said the band has another record they could pull together using vocals recorded by Chris Cornell before his death.<\/p>\n
More than two years after the death of singer Chris Cornell, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil says it\u2019s quite possible the band might have one more album to offer fans. Speaking to SiriusXM\u2019s Trunk Nation LA Invasion this week, Thayil said the band was working on a new album at the time of Cornell\u2019s death and there are unheard vocals the band could piece together.<\/p>\n
It is entirely possible, because that\u2019s what we were doing\u2026 We definitely have another record in us. Stuff that\u2019s written, stuff that\u2019s demoed and recorded \u2014 certainly,\u201d Thayil said of a possible follow-up to 2012\u2019s\u00a0King Animal\u00a0<\/em>comeback.\u00a0All it would need is to take the audio files that are available. I\u2019d tighten up the guitar stuff that\u2019s on there, add other stuff.\u00a0Ben\u00a0[Shepherd] does the bass.\u00a0Matt\u00a0[Cameron] is able to get the drums he wants. We can get the producers we want to make it sound like a Soundgarden\u00a0record.
