BREAKING NEWS: Jai Arrow vows to pay $15,000 fine if NFL star uses banned celebration during MCG game.Here is why….

Retired NRL player Jai Arrow has reached out to San Francisco 49ers superstar George Kittle with a classy gesture ahead of Friday’s historic NFL showdown against the Los Angeles Rams at the MCG.

Former South Sydney champion Arrow’s courageous fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has captured the hearts of Australia and fans around the sporting world, including NFL mega-star Kittle

There have been suggestions that Kittle could emulate the ‘Jai July’ celebrations that took the league world by storm earlier this year. NRL and NRLW players all marked tries with a bow and arrow celebration as part of wider MND fundraising initiatives and the gesture took off with athletes in other sports also getting in on the act.

 

But Kittle said he won’t be able to follow suit due to an NFL rule banning players from performing any celebrations that include references to weapons. The 49ers star would be facing a fine of up to $15,000 if he celebrates a touchdown with an arrow gesture in honour of the former NRL star.

 

“I would love to but I’d get fined and penalised for it because it’s a weapon,” Kittle told reporters in Melbourne. “Trust me, I’ve thought about it.”.

However, Arrow has reached out to Kittle on social media and offered to pay the $15,000 fine himself, if the 49ers star goes through with the bow and arrow gesture. And it appears as though he won’t have any trouble coming up with the money, with hoards of fans offering to chip in and even suggesting the NRL or the NFL could cover it.

 

“Get your man to do this please! We’ll all pay,” one fan insisted about Kittle’s celebration. “Have the NFL donate the fine to MND,” another said. A third wrote: “Do it, we’ll all chip in if we have to. Whatever is extra can go towards MND research. While a fourth added: “NRL will cover the fine brother!”
