Brighton are eyeing a renewed move for former Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell, who is now valued at more than €23m by Toulouse. The Seagulls had a €23m offer turned down in January.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Brighton are expected to come back with a fresh bid this summer, and Toulouse have increased their asking price since the winter window.

Cresswell progressed through Leeds’ academy and into the first team, but opportunities were limited amid competition at centre-back.

He ended more than a decade at Elland Road by joining Toulouse in July 2024 for a fee thought to be around £3.8m. Now 23, his reputation has grown since moving to France.

The England under-21s defender remains on Brighton’s radar ahead of the summer window.

Premier League highflyers Brighton are reportedly eyeing a fresh move for a former Leeds United youngsters whose club now value him at more than €23m.

England youth international defender Charlie Cresswell came through United’s Academy before progressing to the first time only to find game time somewhat limited amid competition for the centre-back spots.

Now 23 years old, Creswell’s stock has since risen considerably and Brighton saw a bid of €23m rejected by Toulouse in the January transfer window.

The Seagulls, though, according to transfer expert journalist Fabrizio Romano, are expected to return with a fresh bid for the England under-21s defender this summer.

Romano says Toulouse’s asking price has risen since the winter window.

The YEP understands that a sell-on clause in the agreement that saw Cresswell move from Leeds last summer will give the Whites 15 per cent of any profit made by Toulouse.
